From the "So that's why I like it so much" department:

Love is Hell is by far my favorite Ryan Adams record in terms of songwriting and atmosphere. So imagine my surprise when I found out today that it was produced by the one and only John Porter. The same guy who did all those magical early Smiths tunes.

So that's (maybe) why I like it so much.
