movies

For the first time in a long time, I'm excited about a lot of upcoming movies.

Live Free or Die Hard
Spiderman 3
The new Fantastic Four (just because of the Silver Surfer)
Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.!)
Ninja Turtles (I know it's been out, I just haven't seen it yet)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres
28 Weeks Later
Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Ocean's 13
1408 (meh)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (a Young Guns for our generation, perhaps?)
Hot Fuzz
Paris, Je T'aime
Rush Hour 3
The Simpsons Movie
Sin City 2

WHOA!!!! "I Am Legend" starring Will Smith??? YEAH!!!

And now, the movies I never ever want to see. Ever.

Bratz: The Movie
The new Highlander trilogy (eww)

Yeah, those (I'll see 1408... I guess) and

The Bourne Ultimatum -- The first two didn't look like movies I would like, but they turned out to be pretty good.

Shrek the Third -- Ditto. But not really that excited about it.

Wow, that's a crap load of third installments. I will go ahead and trust that Bourne, Oceans, Spiderman, and Pirates will not pull out a crappy third like X-Men did. (Not too sure about Rush Hour 3...)

The Aqua Teen movie will probably be my last movie review (...for this publication).

Grindhouse

I liked it a lot for what it was. Read more about it at my brother's blog.

A virus you want to catch...

So what if some ingenious programmer out there created a virus with no malicious effects other than to share a music file over a P2P network from time to time? This way, anyone targeted by the RIAA for alleged copyright violation could just claim that the virus was responsible. Not the most secure or ethical solution, of course, but it seems like it could be a pretty solid defense.

The intro to "Methodist Coloring Book" by the Dead Milkmen is much funnier if you've heard the intro to "Black Country Woman" by Led Zeppelin. I guess it also makes it funnier that the former song appears on a record called Metaphysical Graffiti.
