There is something to be said about walking home at 4 AM carrying a leftover chunk of the frozen pizza you made earlier and an umbrella you don't need to use because it stopped raining hours ago.

Except I didn't walk, I drove, but since the Music City Marathon is tomorrow, parking is prohibited in all the usual places. So I had to walk a ways. It was a great walk.

I am really happy with myself for the first time in what seems like forever. And it only gets better, because in a matter of weeks I have Joe's bachelor party, NYC, and then London.

Enjoy it while it lasts, people. I'm sure I'll be back to my usual cynical self before too long.

Note: there is also something to be said for waking up at 7AM after getting only three hours of sleep, standing in your front yard for two hours with your roomates (and Tyler), banging pots and pans in rhythm as loud as you can (pissing off the neighbors and the dulcimer players next door), and cheering loudly for the hundreds of tired, sweaty runners as they reach the crest of the big Belmont Blvd hill...

Yeah I'm exhausted, but you missed a DAMN good time. ;)

There is something to be said for getting up at Ass 'o Clock in the morning to go play Country music on a tiny little platfomr while thousands of people run by...at that is something is "Man this is stupid, I am so tired." On the other hand it was pretty amazing to see people running by that fast at the 7 mile mark.
